I have been preaching for a long time that good pictures and/or video are an excellent marketing tool.  Today, consumers want to “experience” a product prior to purchase, and they want to do it on the internet, without high-pressure sales tactics.  Video is the obvious answer to this problem of how to reach consumers.  It’s that consumers want to examine products on their terms, and at the times of day or night that they want to see it.  This is just another reason that brick-and-mortar businesses are so challenged these days.  How many times have YOU shopped at [insert the name of your big box store] to see a product up close, and then turned around and bought it on the internet at a better price?  What does this say about consumers’ purchasing decisions?  It doesn’t take long to figure out that business loyalty is all but dead.  It’s about price and delivery to most people these days.  I have witnessed consumers buying dog food on the internet so that it is delivered to their door step.

Take a look at this research which shows how one marketing company overcame challenges by using product videos to market their products.
