While it doesn’t really show any unexpected news to those of us that are in the marketing field, it is very interesting to the layman to study how the chart is broken down.  Specifically, look at the measures that are designed to REDUCE ANXIETY, provide COST/VALUE information, and then simply GENERAL INFORMATION.  Then look at the position of your product/service (Manufacturer, EXCLUSIVE Reseller or NON-EXCLUSIVE Reseller).  These are very important aspects to consider in your own marketing plan!

What this does is give you a good clue how to market your products and services on your web site, printed materials and to all your other marketing avenues.

However, let me interject another point.  This chart illustrates exactly how 2400 other top marketing professionals go about their marketing duties.  Consider two other points when you are marketing your products and services:

  • If everyone else is doing it this way, do you wish to follow the pack, or to blaze your own marketing trails?
  • Consider that, in this example, these are e-commerce web sites.  Your products and services may necessitate marketing in another manner, or in a modified manner.  (You may not even be focusing on selling your products/services on your web site, and that is OK, depending on the purpose of your web site.

I always recommend blazing your own trails in your marketing, as long as you are still utilizing sound marketing principles.
