We want to help you with the correct accounting solution for your business.  Not all accounting software is created equally, and no two businesses have the exact same needs.  That’s why our initial consultation is free.  From there we offer you a detailed estimate of our services and what it will cost.  If you accept, I will complete a letter of engagement outlining exactly what you can expect from us, what our responsibilities are, and what your responsibilities will be.  No hidden fees, and you can count on our services.

For those with modest bookkeeping needs, I can get you started with QuickBooks Ledger and monthly bookkeeping services (software and my services included).  Lets talk in an initial free consultation if this might be right for your business.

For new clients of mine that need a bookkeeping solution and want to implement a solution on Xero accounting software, along with my monthly bookkeeping service, I will offer 50% off of normal setup and installation charges.  (Savings of up to $250).

If you just want help getting set up properly with your accounting software, we can do that with you.  We prefer online, cloud-based software solutions so that if you need help, we can both be looking at the same software and work through any problems together.  We also offer the sales/setup/service solution as part of the on-going monthly bookkeeping service if that is what you desire.  We are trained to make sure your initial setup is correct and based on your business.  These services can include:

  • Data migration from other accounting software systems.
  • Chart of Accounts setup and customization.
  • Software selection, installation and setup.
  • Payroll migration and setup are an additional charge from initial setup and configuration.
  • Monthly bookkeeping services are an additional charge from initial setup and configuration.
  • Books cleanup services are also an additional charge from initial setup if those services are required.

Once you are properly setup, if you need initial or occasional coaching support, we can help you with that as well.  It is important to note that I have experience in sales, accounting, purchasing, marketing and business management.  When you work with me, this experience is an added benefit to you.

Sometimes you may have an existing installation and you need help getting things back in order.  We offer those service as well.  Be aware that we only offer this service on software platforms we support, and typically only do books cleanups if we are going to provide monthly bookkeeping services moving forward.  We can talk about this in much more detail if this is a service you require.

We provide monthly bookkeeping services based on the needs of your business.  Everyone doesn’t need every type of bookkeeping process.  We tailor our services based on your needs.  This could include:

  1. Downloading and categorizing transactions for all business bank accounts and credit cards
  2. Monthly reporting
  3. Accounts Payable (bills, credit memos, etc))
  4. Accounts Receivable (invoices, credit memos, etc)
  5. Inventory
  6. Sales tax tracking and reporting
  7. 1099 Contractor tracking and reporting
  8. Payroll
  1. CPA or Accountant extended services (although we will work in conjunction with them)
  2. State or Federal Tax Filing (Except for Sales Tax Reporting)

However, the services we offer easily can be coordinated and shared with the CPA or Accountant of your choice.  At your request, and with your permission, our work is easily shared with them for their use.  Typically, any adjustments they make are shared with us and we make those requested corrections to your books for you.

We are not CPA’s or Accountants.  We are Bookkeepers.  We do different things than they do.  We work with the daily details to assure they are tracked and reported properly.  Quite frankly, Bookkeepers work less expensively than CPA’s and Accountants.  Bookkeepers categorize, organize and reconcile.  Sure, CPA’s and Accountants can do that as well, but you don’t need to be paying those higher fees for the monthly work that they normally don’t want to be doing anyway.  Accountants and CPA’s are best suited for large, complex organizations and tax-related work, advising, planning and strategizing.  Bookkeepers are best suited for tracking, categorizing and working with your business on a more intimate and regular basis.

As mentioned previously, when it’s tax time, your CPA or Accountant can be given direct access to your numbers so that they can analyze, review, plan, make adjustments and file your taxes for you.  It’s like being a mechanic or a carpenter.  You need to choose the right tools for the job.

Consider that Payroll providers are optimized to track and report payroll and the associated employees.  They are specialists in payroll and benefits.  Your selected payroll provider can do what they do best, and then their numbers can be integrated into your books by either a bookkeeper, Accountant of CPA.  Again, the right tools for the job.

If there is ever a situation when meetings are needed with Accountants, CPA’s, Payroll Specialists, Tax Professionals or even the IRS, we’ve got you covered.  We will gladly meet with them and explain all the actions and services we did on your behalf and even make any adjustments as required.  However, this is beyond the scope of our initial engagement letter, and these services will be provided on a time and materials basis.

Due to the nature of online bookkeeping, in most cases, with your approval (always required), we can share your information (especially with CPA’s and Tax Professionals) for them to provide their services without duplicate data entry.  This saves you time and money.  In most cases, these “virtual” meetings never need to take place in a physical room.  It can all be done online, electronically and virtually without ever needing to be in the an actual conference room.  Of course, if it makes more sense, that can still happen as well.

We never share your information without your approval or request.  Your privacy is our priority.

We stand behind our work, but we are always there for you if needed.

One more thing.  Because of the way our services are structured, we work with you on exactly the services you need, and only for as long as you want to continue.  It will all be spelled out in our engagement letter when you hire us.
